A gorgeous manor house set in picturesque Pembrokeshire countryside, offering luxury boutique accommodation and superb dining, with plenty of wonderful walks and places of interest nearby, it’s easy to see why family owned 5 star Trefloyne Manor is so popular. West life chats with the hotel’s General Manager Tom Beynon…
Tom, what led your family to Trefloyne Manor?
My parents have started various diverse businesses from fruit and veg shops and a retail shop Jago in Tenby and Narberth, to CelVac working within the water industry, so when they went for a walk to Trefloyne one afternoon they fell under the spell and magic of a very special hidden gem. A year later they had bought a run-down golf course and a dilapidated Manor House. That was in 2004 and we haven’t looked back. The magic goes on and it is still a very special hidden gem!
Your rooms are stunning.
Thank you. We’re delighted to be rated 5 star by both Visit Wales and the AA. We have four different room types: Standard Double, Superior Double, Luxury Double, Suite. Each of our rooms are individually designed to the highest standard where impressive modern textures and fittings blend in with the spectacular original features of the manor.
Our beautiful suites in the coach house have been created out of a derelict barn to create rooms suited for everyone and any occasion. Guests love our in room picnics with cured meats, olives, bread, cheeses and a great bottle of wine.
Talking of food, congratulations on being awarded your first AA Rosette.
Thank you. All our food is locally sourced wherever possible, this is extremely important to us as we are a local family supporting other local business. We have an ever-evolving menu, a specials board and our famous fish board. There is also our recipe of the week, with ideas coming from everyone, not just Chef.
We also have a selection of fine wines on our list, so that you always have the perfect glass of wine to compliment your delicious meal. And if it’s a light bite you’re after our bar menu has a wide variety of snacks and meals.
Do you have any plans for the future?
Absolutely, we’re in the process of finalising plans for more Swedish Houses in the woods. And we have planning for a Spa as part of the ongoing development of Trefloyne.
Also a scenic 18 hole golf course surrounds the Manor, which is available for a yearly membership and day rate play. Whether you’re popping in for a drink after work, a special evening meal, a wedding, or the perfect retreat for a weekend away, we can highly recommend Tre oyne Manor.
